Jesus’ earthly ministry was to Israel:

The purpose of this ministry was to fulfil prophecy:

Matthew 5:17 (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Jesus’ heavenly ministry is to the Body of Christ:

Acts 9:3-4 (KJV) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
