Position v condition

In the dispensation of grace, the saint’s position (standing) in Christ is secure, sealed as he is with the Holy Spirit of promise:

Romans 5:1-2 (KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

2 Corinthians 1:22 (KJV) Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

His condition (state), however, is a work in progress and can be variable:

Philippians 2:19-20 (KJV) But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

Our position should affect our condition:

Titus 2:11-12 (KJV) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Our condition, on the other hand, cannot affect our position:

Colossians 1:14 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
