What does it mean to follow Paul?

To follow Paul means to understand that he is our apostle…

Romans 11:13a (KJV) For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles,

…and that it is the doctrine he teaches which is for us:

2 Timothy 2:7 (KJV) Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

It does not mean we follow the man but rather that we recognise that he was given an apostleship by Christ for us:

Romans 11:13ba (KJV) I magnify mine office;

Ephesians 3:1-2 (KJV) For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Paul’s apostleship and doctrine

Paul’s apostleship and the doctrine he was given came from God and not from any man (which would include Peter’s group):

Acts 26:15-18 (KJV) And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Galatians 1:1 (KJV) Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

Galatians 2:9 (KJV) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
