What does it mean to follow Paul?

To follow Paul means to understand that he is our apostle…

Romans 11:13a (KJV) For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles,

…and that it is the doctrine he teaches which is for us:

2 Timothy 2:7 (KJV) Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

It does not mean we follow the man but rather that we recognise that he was given an apostleship by Christ for us:

Romans 11:13ba (KJV) I magnify mine office;

Ephesians 3:1-2 (KJV) For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Paul’s apostleship and doctrine

Paul’s apostleship and the doctrine he was given came from God and not from any man (which would include Peter’s group):

Acts 26:15-18 (KJV) And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. Galatians 1:1 (KJV) Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
