1. The temple was built in silence
1 Kings 6:7 (KJV) And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
The stones were shaped elsewhere and then brought together at the building site. God was assembling his house without the noise of construction.
2. The most holy place was a perfect cube
1 Kings 6:20 (KJV) And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.
20x20x20 cubits
The most holy place (where the ark of the covenant of the LORD was set) was the only cubic room in scripture until another appears:
Revelation 21:16 (KJV) And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
The new Jerusalem is likewise a cube.
3. There was far more wood and gold visible than stone
When people think of the temple, they imagine a massive stone structure. Yet inside, stone was almost invisible.
1 Kings 6:18, 21a (KJV) And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen...21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold:
The walls were covered with cedar, carvings and gold.
The glory was on the inside.
